Fujikoki’s Core Product
We provide products that outstandingly work inside in-vehicle air-conditioning systems, space air-conditioners, and other various kinds of climatic temperature controlling equipment. Majority of our products can be categorized into three application areas; “In-vehicle”, “Air-conditioner”, and “Refrigeration”.
Fujikoki was originally founded as a manufacturer of expansion valves, capable of ensuring literary the “expansion function” – one part of those four cyclic processes of “expansion, evaporation, compression, and condensation” required during heating/cooling moment.
Coming to our 75th anniversary year, our field of business is extending further beyond these expansion valves into the wider range of cooling/heating-cycle-related devices; from pressure switches, pressure sensors, solenoid valves, regulating valves, check valves, cylindrical tanks, throughout to drain pumps.
Among a number of products that we attain with the world’s leading share, especially the block cube expansion valve (named as V-type/VRE-type) for in-vehicle air-conditioning systems has recorded the cumulative total sales of 1 billion unit with global market share of more than 60%, becoming one of our core products.
“V-type (VRE)” block cube thermostatic expansion valve
“V-type (VRE-type)”, as a thermostatic expansion valve, is applied to in-vehicle air-conditioning systems mainly in gasoline cars and hybrid cars, and gives its great functionality to support “cooling” performance. Since the initial launch in 1980, this “V-type” had already reached the cumulative total sales of 1 billion unit as of February 2024 while retaining its strong sales power of more than 50 million unit per annum – as one of our world’s top share products.
How thermostatic expansion valve works in refrigeration and heating/cooling cycle
A thermostatic expansion valve works to;
- detect pressure and temperature at the evaporator outlet so to vary the valve opening level accordingly.
- maintain the state optimal for a refrigerant to complete its evaporation effect exactly at the evaporator outlet. (The cooling cycle utilizes the latent heat generated by the refrigerant evaporation, so such optimal state of the full evaporation is required.)
Growth Field of Fujikoki
Aiming to the realization of the sustainable society, our heat-pump-related products now take an integral part in the environmental load-reducing initiatives in the air-conditioning industry.
Battery-powered vehicles (known as BEV or PHV) usually require more complicated cooling/heating cycles for in-vehicle air-conditioning systems. Such complexity in cycles demand heat-pump components be based on our technical engineering and production know-how cultivated in the domestic/office air-conditioner segment. Moreover, this complexity also increases the total amount of valves to be loaded in one vehicle as well. At present moment, our heat-pump products are applied in large number to those battery-powered vehicles so to expand our growth field.
Looking in the domestic/office air-conditioner segment, the heat-pump market is experiencing the rapid growth momentum thanks to its high energy efficiency, even among those regions like European countries where gas heaters tend historically to be the first choice. In addition, the worldwide shift to low GWP (global warming potential) refrigerant is promoting the trend of imposing higher technical controllability on various type of valves. Hence, we have more opportunities for further extension of our growth field as the market is looking for our technology and know-how proudly in “ultra-precise control and more silent motion”.
“P-type (PAM/PGM)” electronic linear control valve with gear-driven mechanism
This gear-driven “P-type” electronic linear control valve was developed with our own proprietary engineering technology, and released into the market in 2009. It has capability of enabling ultra-precise control with 5,000 steps, which is approximately 10 times more precise than any other conventional electronic linear control valves. This ultra-precise control can help air-conditioning systems have more sophisticated functionality as well as higher energy saving performance.

Fujikoki Corporation’s official mascot,
“Fuji-kun”
Fuji-kun was brought into the world in 2017.
Fuji-kun’s outfit is designed to have an image of dynamic and powerful wings flying up high into the sky, with yellow-lined inner embroidery of “F”: very-first letter of “Fujikoki”, all of which are wishing for further growth of Fujikoki Corporation. Fujikoki Corporation promises to make further upgrowth, spreading our wings powerfully in the world together with Fuji-kun!
